The International Sustainable Development Studies Institute (ISDSI) is a non-profit located in Chiang Mai, Thailand that facilitates exchange programs teaching students about sustainability through close collaboration with local communities.

As ISDSI, I've been deeply involved in a range of impactful initiatives that have bolstered sustainable development efforts and fostered cross-cultural understanding between US University students and local communities. Notably, I played a pivotal role in the research, design, and development phases of a Research Exchange Program focusing on Sustainable Development with Maejo University, contributing valuable insights and expertise to shape its curriculum.

Engaging with diverse communities on a daily basis, I adeptly delivered program support through various activities such as field visits, seminars, and excursions, fostering meaningful connections and learning opportunities.

Project OLIVES (Outdoor Learning Initiatives for a Vibrant Environment and Sustainability) is a new initiative designed to foster eco-literacy and sustainability in preschoolers through outdoor education.

Based in Orange County, CA the founder, Lana Tran, wanted help further developing the program and it's curriculum as well as opportunities to effectively market and recruit new participants. Through consultations, a fellow classmate and I were able to provide Lana with a new website design, a marketing analysis and plan, assessment plans, and opportunities to internationalize the curriculum.

As an International Education Programs Intern at WorldDenver, I worked on the design and launch of the first ever Africa Regional Competition, an extension of the World Affairs Challenge. The World Affairs Challenge is an international program for middle and high school students to implement and develop their own S.M.A.R.T. solutions for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Students from all over the world form teams and compete to develop, present, and implement a sustainable solution based on the SDGs in their communities!

My time at Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) has been an enriching journey towards mastering the intricacies of international education management. Through immersive, hands-on experiences and real-world projects, I've acquired practical skills that transcend theory, preparing me to navigate the complexities of global education systems confidently. Engaging directly with diverse communities and cultures has been pivotal in developing my cultural competency and fostering a deeper understanding of international education's nuanced challenges and opportunities.

MIIS not only equipped me with the tools necessary for effective international education management but also instilled a profound appreciation for the interconnectedness of education on a global scale, shaping me into a well-rounded and empathetic leader poised to make meaningful contributions to the field.
